Two rivers
The St. Joseph and Elkhart rivers meet near downtown. Their curves break the regular street grid and form the most expressive lines on the print.

Mapa
Elkhart Map Poster & Print
Elkhart grew up where the St. Joseph and Elkhart rivers meet, and the two waterways still shape its map. The St. Joseph loops through the city from east to west, with islands and parks along its course, and the Elkhart river joins it from the south near downtown. Straight grid streets fill the land between them, interrupted by rail lines and industrial sites.
The city is widely known as the RV Capital of the World, because a large share of North America's recreational vehicles are built in and around it. It also has a long history of making band instruments, beginning with C. G. Conn in the late nineteenth century. Both industries have left large districts of plants and warehouses across the map.
An Elkhart map poster traces the rivers through the grid and shows how the centre sits between them, with Island Park where the two meet. Wide rail corridors and a large freight yard cut across the city. They are another reminder of the transport routes that made its manufacturing possible.

Island Park
A park on an island where the two rivers meet forms a small open shape at the heart of the city, clearly visible between the channels.
Rail and industry
Rail lines and large industrial sites tied to RV and instrument making take up wide areas of the city. They appear as broad, blocky shapes among the residential streets.

Mapa koja nešto znači
