The Shropshire Union Canal ends at the old docks beside the Ship Canal. Its basins and locks make a small, intricate cluster of shapes on the print.

Mapa
Ellesmere Port Town Map Poster & Print
Ellesmere Port lies on the south bank of the Mersey estuary in Cheshire, and the town exists largely because of its waterways. The Shropshire Union Canal comes in from the south and ends here, at the docks where it once connected with the Mersey. Along the northern edge, the Manchester Ship Canal runs parallel to the estuary, separated from it by a narrow strip of land.
The old canal port, with its basins and warehouses, is now home to the National Waterways Museum. Industry has also shaped the map: the large Stanlow refinery lies to the east, and the Vauxhall car plant sits south of the centre. Residential neighbourhoods of mostly twentieth-century streets fill the space between these large sites.
An Ellesmere Port Town map poster shows these layers clearly: the broad estuary, two canals of very different scale, the docks where they meet, and the town that grew up to serve them. In monochrome, the straight engineered lines of the waterways make a striking contrast with the curving streets of the housing estates.

Ship Canal and estuary
The Manchester Ship Canal runs straight along the Mersey's edge. Together they form two parallel bands of water across the top of the map.
Estate streets
Curving roads, crescents and cul-de-sacs in the residential areas fill the centre of the frame. They soften the industrial straight lines at the edges.

Zašto Ellesmere Port Town
Mapa koja nešto znači
Ellesmere Port has a strong local identity shaped by work on the docks, at the refinery and at the car plant. A map of the town often celebrates that family history, and it also suits canal enthusiasts who know the museum and the locks.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with your street or the year you started work. Blueprint suits the engineered waterways particularly well, though all five styles are available. Download print-ready files instantly or order a printed poster with an optional frame.
