Valley alignment
The town stretches along the valley floor, so the street pattern is longer in one direction and follows the lie of the land.

Mapa
Huangnihe Map Poster & Print
Huangnihe is a town in Dunhua, in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of eastern Jilin province. It sits in hilly, heavily forested country, and for much of its history the local economy has depended on timber. On a map the town fits into a valley, with its streets arranged along the flat ground and wooded slopes rising on either side.
The layout is simple and practical. The main routes run through the valley, and the town's blocks line up beside them in a fairly regular pattern. Beyond the built-up area the map quickly empties into forest. Only a few roads and tracks climb away into the hills toward villages and forestry land.
A Huangnihe map poster suits people with roots in this corner of northeast China, whether through family, forestry work or time spent in Yanbian. A line map cannot show the long winters or the dark green of the hills. It does show the shape of the valley and the clear edge where town meets forest.

Where the slopes begin, the streets stop abruptly. This gives the town a sharp outline surrounded by large empty areas on the poster.
Through routes
The main roads follow the valley and continue beyond the town. They form long lines that lead the eye across the frame.
