Village core
The older centre of Kurumbapet is a cluster of short, irregular lanes. It is visibly different from the straighter plots laid out around it more recently.

Mapa
Kurumbapet Map Poster & Print
Kurumbapet lies on the western side of Puducherry, a few kilometres inland from the grid of the old town and the Bay of Bengal shoreline. The ground here is flat, and the street pattern shows how the area has developed over time. Older lanes follow irregular lines around the village core, while newer residential layouts have been laid out in more regular blocks along the main roads.
Like much of the Puducherry territory, Kurumbapet has changed quickly as the city has spread outward. Farmland and water tanks have been partly replaced by housing, institutions and commercial frontage. On a map, that mix produces a varied texture of winding paths, straight plot lines and open patches where fields and ponds remain between the built-up areas.
A Kurumbapet map poster centres on this edge-of-city landscape rather than on the famous seafront. Depending on the framing, the planned streets of central Puducherry can appear toward one side, which makes an interesting comparison with the looser, more organic network around the suburb. It is a personal map, most meaningful to those who know the place well.

Arterial roads
Main roads link the suburb to central Puducherry and the surrounding villages. On the poster they form the strong lines around which the rest of the street network is organised.
Open ground
Remaining fields and water bodies leave pale gaps between the built areas, which gives the print breathing room and shows the area's recent rural past.
