Mapa
Marshalltown Map Poster & Print
Marshalltown is the seat of Marshall County in central Iowa, set among the farmland of the state's rolling prairie. Its plan is classic Midwestern: a regular street grid aligned to the compass, a courthouse square at the centre of downtown, and railroad lines cutting across the town on their own alignments.
The Iowa River passes along the north side of town, its meandering channel and wooded floodplain softening the edge of the grid, and smaller creeks cut through some neighbourhoods. Beyond the town limits the land is divided into the square-mile sections of the American land survey, so the country roads carry the grid far into the fields.
The Lennox heating company was founded in Marshalltown, and the town remains an industrial and agricultural centre. Its historic courthouse was badly damaged by a tornado in 2018 and later restored. A Marshalltown map poster shows the town's structure in full, a grid, a river and a square, drawn with precision.

Iowa River
The river winds along the north edge of town, and its meanders and floodplain form a soft, irregular border to the otherwise straight streets.
Railroad lines
Rail lines cross Marshalltown on their own alignments, breaking the grid and leaving long strips of open space and industrial land across the map.
