Mapa
Meschede Map Poster & Print
Meschede follows the valley of the upper Ruhr, and the map makes the terrain obvious even without contour lines. Streets crowd onto the valley floor and climb short distances up the slopes, while the surrounding hills stay largely empty, covered by the forests of the Sauerland. The river, the railway and the main road run roughly parallel, and the A46 motorway approaches from the west.
The town is the administrative seat of the Hochsauerlandkreis district. Just south of the centre, the Hennesee reservoir stretches along a narrow valley, a popular spot for sailing and walking. On a hillside above the town, the Benedictine Abbey of Königsmünster is known for its austere modern church, a striking piece of post-war religious architecture.
A Meschede map poster suits people who like landscapes with a clear logic: water in the valley, settlement along it, forest above. The long, narrow reservoir gives the southern half of the composition an elegant shape, and in Blueprint or Noir the interplay between river, lake and hillside streets becomes especially graphic.

Hennesee reservoir
South of the centre, the reservoir forms a long, slender body of water with wooded banks, one of the most distinctive shapes on the map.
Forested hills
The Sauerland uplands surround Meschede on every side, leaving large quiet spaces that frame the settled valley and give the poster room to breathe.
