The Erms river
The Erms crosses the town on its way to the Neckar, giving the map a soft diagonal line that the older streets and bridges quietly follow.

Mapa
Metzingen Map Poster & Print
From above, Metzingen sits where the Erms valley opens toward the Neckar lowlands, with the wooded edge of the Swabian Alb rising to the south-east. The river runs through town on a gentle curve, and the older streets gather close to it, while newer neighbourhoods spread across the flatter ground toward Reutlingen and the surrounding fields and orchards.
The town is known far beyond the region for two very different things. Hugo Boss was founded here in 1924 and still has its headquarters in Metzingen, and the outlet quarter that grew up around it draws shoppers from across Europe. Older than both is the wine: vineyards climb the slopes above town, and a cluster of historic wine-press houses recalls centuries of harvests.
A Metzingen map poster brings those layers into one frame: the thread of the Erms, the tight core of the old town, the large block footprints of the outlet district and the fine lines of lanes that fade out into vineyards and orchards. In black and white, the contrast between dense centre and open hillside becomes the real subject.

Vineyard slopes
On the hillsides above the centre, narrow access paths trace the vineyards, turning the edge of town into a fine pattern of parallel lines.
Outlet quarter
Near the centre, broad retail buildings and car parks form larger, blockier shapes, a clear contrast with the small plots of the historic streets beside them.
