Mapa
Norristown Map Poster & Print
Norristown is the county seat of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, set on the north bank of the Schuylkill River a short distance upstream of Philadelphia. The town was laid out on a regular grid that climbs from the river onto higher ground, so on a map the streets look orderly while the contours tell a story of steady slope. Main Street runs parallel to the water through the historic centre.
The riverbank itself is a band of infrastructure: rail lines, the Schuylkill River Trail and bridges carrying roads across to Bridgeport. Norristown is also the terminus of a rapid transit line to Upper Darby, and its transportation centre sits near the river. Valley Forge National Historical Park lies a few miles upstream, just beyond the town's western reach.
A Norristown map poster captures the meeting of a planned grid and a winding river. The straight streets stop abruptly where the land drops to the water, and the curve of the Schuylkill gives the composition a natural lower edge. Printed in fine lines, the courthouse blocks and residential streets form an even, readable texture.

Stepped street grid
Streets run in a regular pattern up the slope from the water, giving the map an even rhythm of blocks that becomes looser toward the northern neighbourhoods.
River crossings
Bridges link Norristown with Bridgeport on the opposite bank, short straight strokes across the river that anchor the two communities to each other.
