The town square
The historic square is the densest point on the map. Streets leave it at uneven angles, a reminder that the centre grew long before the modern suburbs laid out their regular plots.

Říčany Map Poster & Print
Říčany sits just southeast of Prague. On a map it reads as a town that has grown in rings around an older core. The central square and the short streets around it form a tight knot, and newer residential blocks and garden suburbs spread out in looser patterns. The railway toward Prague cuts a firm line through this spread and gives the composition a clear axis.
Around the built-up area, the line work thins into fields, patches of forest and a scatter of small ponds. These ponds are a typical feature of the Central Bohemian landscape. In black and white they appear as small closed shapes set among the streets and paths, a quiet counterpoint to the denser grid of the centre. The remains of a medieval castle sit close to the old town.
A Říčany map poster shows a place where a historic market town and a commuter suburb overlap. Close to the centre the plan is irregular and old. Further out it becomes orderly and residential, and at the edges it opens into countryside. That shift from tight to open is what makes the town's footprint worth looking at closely.

Ponds and woodland
Small ponds and wooded patches ring the town. On the poster they read as calm open spaces that soften the edges of the street network and frame the built-up area.
Rail line to Prague
The railway runs through the town toward the capital. It is one of the strongest lines in the composition, a straight stroke that shows how closely Říčany is tied to Prague.
