The railway line
The line from Manchester crosses the town from east to west, a straight thread that explains much of how the Victorian streets around it were laid out.

Mapa
Urmston Map Poster & Print
Urmston is a town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, a few miles west of the city centre. From above it is a dense spread of terraced and semi-detached streets, laid out largely in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries after the railway arrived. The line from Manchester runs east to west through the town, and the station sits close to the main shopping streets.
To the south the River Mersey curves past, bordered by open meadows, golf courses and flood banks that keep the town's edge green. This gives the map a pleasing balance: tightly packed residential streets in the centre, then a looser band of fields and water along the river. Parks and playing fields are scattered through the grid, breaking up its rhythm.
An Urmston map poster suits anyone who knows the walk to the station, the local parks or the paths along the Mersey. In black and white the terraces become fine, repeating lines, and the river gives the composition a natural boundary. It is a modest, familiar kind of map, one that rewards a closer look.

Mersey meadows
South of the houses the River Mersey loops past open meadows, golf courses and flood banks, giving the map a broad, green lower edge.
Suburban terraces
Rows of terraced and semi-detached houses create a dense, even texture of short streets and cul-de-sacs, typical of the suburbs west of Manchester.

Zašto Urmston
Mapa koja nešto znači
Urmston is the kind of place people carry with them after moving away: the school run, the high street, the river walks. A map of it is a personal object, recognisable to anyone who has lived there and quietly decorative for everyone else.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps the street where you grew up or the year you moved in. The design comes in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, so it can sit in a hallway or a study equally well.
