River Böhme
The Böhme runs through Walsrode in loose bends lined with meadows and trees. It adds a soft, natural line to the map, set against the straighter roads that lead out toward the heath.

Walsrode Map Poster & Print
Walsrode is in the Heidekreis district of Lower Saxony, on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath. The small river Böhme winds through the town, and the oldest streets sit close to its banks. From above, the centre is a tight knot of lanes around the church and the abbey. Further out it loosens into residential streets, allotments and patches of pine and heath.
Kloster Walsrode, a convent founded in the late tenth century, is one of the oldest religious foundations in the region, and it still anchors the historic core. On a Walsrode map poster its compact grounds sit beside the curving line of the river. They are a small but readable sign that the town grew around a religious community long before it became a crossroads.
The crossroads is easy to see just outside town, where the A7 and A27 motorways meet at the Walsrode triangle and their ramps draw wide loops through the forest. Also on the outskirts is Weltvogelpark Walsrode, one of the largest bird parks in the world. Its paths and ponds show up as a separate cluster of curved lines among the surrounding woodland.

Abbey quarter
The grounds of Kloster Walsrode, a convent that dates back to the tenth century, form a compact enclosure in the old centre. The short, irregular streets of the original town surround it.
Walsrode motorway triangle
Where the A7 and A27 meet, long sweeping ramps cut through the forest. This piece of modern infrastructure looks almost like a drawn ornament at the edge of the print.

Zašto Walsrode
Mapa koja nešto znači
Some people know Walsrode as a name on a motorway sign and others call it home, and either connection is a good reason to hang the map. A title with the town name or a family name, plus a date, turns it into a personal record.
The river curves and forest roads look especially good in Paper or Sand for a warmer feel, or in Noir for a darker room. Classic and Blueprint are also available. Download the HD files for $9 in six sizes, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
