Mapa
Wuzhen Map Poster & Print
Wuzhen lies in Tongxiang, in northern Zhejiang, on the flat plain between Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shanghai, which is crossed by countless waterways. Its historic core stretches along a river that runs through the town. The two main preserved areas, Dongzha in the east and Xizha in the west, appear on a map as long ribbons of dense building pressed right up to the water.
Canals branch from the main river into the countryside, and the land between them is scattered with ponds and fields. Wuzhen is the birthplace of the writer Mao Dun, and since 2014 it has hosted the World Internet Conference, which brought a modern conference district to the edge of the old town. Both layers are visible from above.
A Wuzhen map poster shows a place where water decides almost everything, from the direction of the streets to the shape of each neighbourhood. It is a fine reminder of a visit, and it suits people from Tongxiang or the wider Jiangnan region who want their familiar waterways drawn in a single, clean image.

Water plain
Around the town, canals, ponds and field channels cover the flat land in an intricate pattern. This gives the edges of the poster remarkable texture.
Conference quarter
Newer, larger-scale development built for the World Internet Conference sits beside the historic areas. Its wide roads and big buildings contrast visibly with the old lanes.
