Valley floor
The town fills the flatter land in the valley. The shape of the terrain decides its edges and gives the settlement a long, narrow outline.

Mapa
Xinxing Map Poster & Print
Xinxing lies in the southeast of Gansu, in the hilly loess country of the upper Wei River basin. In this landscape, towns grow along valley floors, because the surrounding slopes are steep and cut by gullies. From above, Xinxing follows that pattern. Its streets fill the flatter ground, and the land around it rises in folds and ridges.
The map captures this contrast clearly. The built area has a regular structure, while the terrain around it is irregular and heavily shaped by erosion and terracing. Roads follow the valleys instead of cutting straight across, and they give the town a stretched, linear shape.
A Xinxing map poster is best suited to people with a personal link to the town: those who grew up here, families from nearby villages, or anyone who has moved to Lanzhou, Xi'an or further afield. Places like this rarely get a proper print, so a clean, accurate map means a great deal to the people who know it.

Loess hills
Folded slopes and gullies surround the town. At poster scale they contrast strongly with the orderly streets below.
Valley roads
Main roads follow the valleys instead of crossing the hills. Their curving lines connect the town to neighbouring settlements.
