El mapa
Adelphi Map Poster & Print
Adelphi is a community in Prince George's County, Maryland, just north of College Park and the University of Maryland. It has no traditional downtown. Instead, the map shows a web of curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs set between a few major roads, including New Hampshire Avenue and University Boulevard, which carry most of the traffic.
The strongest natural feature is the valley of the Northwest Branch of the Anacostia River, which runs through the area as a band of parkland. On the map it appears as a long, winding green corridor with streets stopping at its edges. Beside it stands Adelphi Mill, a stone grist mill from the late eighteenth century and one of the oldest of its kind in the county.
An Adelphi map poster shows a mid-century suburb shaped by topography rather than a grid. The Adelphi Laboratory Center, home to U.S. Army research facilities, also sits within the area. Together, the stream valley, the main roads and the loops of housing make a print with a gentle, flowing texture.

Adelphi Mill
The historic stone mill on the Northwest Branch dates from the late 1700s and marks where the community's story began, beside the stream that once powered it.
Curving suburban streets
Residential streets loop and branch between the main avenues, forming a soft, organic pattern that contrasts with the straight lines of the nearby arterial roads.
