Yokota runway
The airbase runway is a long, perfectly straight form among irregular residential streets, the kind of bold line that anchors a black-and-white composition.

El mapa
Akishima Map Poster & Print
Akishima lies in the Tama area of western Tokyo, on the flat terraces north of the Tama River. From above, the most striking feature is the long straight runway of Yokota Air Base, which the city shares with its neighbours. It cuts a clean line through the surrounding housing, which fills the rest of the map with a fine, dense pattern of small streets.
The Tama River forms the southern edge, a broad channel with wide riverbanks and gravel bars that give the map a soft natural border. Railway lines run east to west, with stations acting as small local hubs where streets tighten into shopping districts.
Part of Showa Kinen Park, one of the largest parks in the Tokyo area, reaches into Akishima from neighbouring Tachikawa. An Akishima map poster brings together these elements: the river, the rail lines, the fine suburban street grain and the unmistakable runway, all in a compact and quietly structured frame.

Tama River banks
Along the south, the river and its broad floodplain create an open, flowing boundary that contrasts with the tightly packed neighbourhoods to the north.
Showa Kinen Park
The edge of this large park appears as a wide open space with curving paths, a green break within the dense suburban fabric of western Tokyo.
