Hanyuan Map Poster & Print
Hanyuan is a town in southern Gansu province, in Longnan, where the land is broken into mountains and deep valleys on the edge of the Qinling range. Settlements here grow wherever the valley floors allow, and the town's shape from above reflects that constraint.
The streets are arranged along a river valley, so the built-up area runs in a long, relatively narrow band. The main road follows the valley, with smaller streets branching off where the ground widens a little. Beyond the edges the slopes rise quickly, and the map shows mostly terraces, farmland and mountain roads.
