Compact town core
The centre is a tight cluster of blocks and crossing streets. It stands out against the looser pattern of the countryside and anchors the whole composition.

El mapa
Jiudian Map Poster & Print
Jiudian sits in the farmland of eastern Shandong, where the land flattens out between the hills of the Jiaodong Peninsula. From above it has a clear shape: a dense core of streets and blocks, with roads running out through a patchwork of fields and villages. The contrast between the built centre and the open land around it is what makes the map read well.
On paper the town looks orderly. Main roads cross near the centre, lanes branch off at right angles, and the edges fade into rectangular plots and scattered hamlets. Small watercourses and irrigation lines cut across the fields in thin strokes. None of it is dramatic, but printed in black and white it has a quiet, graphic rhythm that suits a minimalist wall.
A Jiudian map poster is mostly for people with a direct tie to the place: someone who grew up here, family who still farm nearby, or a person who moved away to Qingdao or further and wants a record of home. Towns like this seldom appear on commercial prints, which makes a precise map of one worth more to the people who know it.

Field geometry
Rectangular plots and farm tracks spread out around the town. At poster scale they become a fine texture that fills the space around the streets.
Radiating roads
Roads leave the centre toward neighbouring towns and villages. Their long lines give the map direction and link the core to the wider plain.

Per què Jiudian
Un mapa amb significat
For many people Jiudian is where a family story starts. A map keeps the layout of the streets and the fields around them, a record that stays meaningful after years spent in a larger city. It works well in a hallway or study, or as a gift for parents.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example with a family name, a birth year or the date someone left home. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy it as a $9 HD download or as a printed poster.
