Valley-floor town
The streets are concentrated on the level ground along the valley, forming a long, narrow built-up strip that is clearly shaped by the hills on either side.

El mapa
Luotang Map Poster & Print
Luotang lies in the mountainous south of Gansu, a region of steep ridges and deep valleys that stretches toward Sichuan. On a map, settlements here are strongly shaped by the terrain: the built-up area stays on the narrow flat land along the valley floor, and the roads follow the river instead of choosing their own course. The town becomes a long, thin shape between hillsides.
Around it, the linework is sparse. Small roads branch into side valleys and climb in switchbacks toward villages on higher ground, while the steep slopes in between remain almost blank. That emptiness is part of the picture, since it shows how much of the landscape is mountain and how little of it is flat enough to build on.
A Luotang map poster is about that relationship between settlement and terrain. It is not a map of grand landmarks; it is a clear drawing of a mountain town following its valley. For people with roots here, the line of the main road and the river beside it is likely the most familiar shape of all.

Switchback roads
Roads leaving the valley climb the slopes in tight bends, and those zigzag lines add a distinctive rhythm to the edges of the map.
Open mountainsides
Large parts of the frame are steep slopes with few roads, and these open areas give the composition space and make the town itself stand out.

Per què Luotang
Un mapa amb significat
For anyone who grew up in a mountain valley and moved away to a city, a map like this is a direct link to home: one road, one river and the hills around them, printed clearly and simply.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with the town's name in Chinese characters or a meaningful date. The five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, give different moods.
