Mūdbidri Map Poster & Print
Mūdbidri is in the hilly interior of Dakshina Kannada, where the coastal plain begins to rise toward the Western Ghats. The older part of town is compact. Its streets curve between temple compounds and the traditional houses beside them. Newer roads lead outward past water tanks, plantations and the large campuses built in recent decades. From above, the landscape is green and uneven, with the town following the ground.
The town is often called the Jain Kashi of the South and is known for its many basadis, the Jain temples of the region. The best known is the Saavira Kambada Basadi, the thousand-pillared temple, whose carved columns attract pilgrims and visitors. Mūdbidri has also become an education centre, home to large colleges whose grounds now take up a noticeable part of the map.
A Mūdbidri map poster shows these layers together: the dense, irregular core around the temples, the roads leading to Mangaluru and Karkala, and the broad campus grounds at the edges. It shows a town whose religious heritage and modern schools sit side by side in the same compact landscape.

Campus grounds
Large college campuses on the town's outskirts show as broad blocks with internal paths, a modern layer added to the historic temple town.
Rolling terrain
Roads bend around the low hills of Tulu Nadu instead of cutting straight through them, so the street network looks relaxed and follows the ground.
