Ohio River bend
The river forms the whole northern edge of the city. Its broad, curving line provides the strongest contrast on the map and sets the grid firmly in place.

El mapa
Owensboro Map Poster & Print
Owensboro sits on the south bank of the Ohio River in western Kentucky, and the river is the dominant element of its map. The downtown grid starts at the riverfront and extends south in regular blocks. Further out, it loosens into residential streets and commercial roads. On the northern side, the water forms a wide, smooth band with Indiana beyond.
Two bridges cross the river here. The Glover Cary Bridge reaches directly from the edge of downtown. The William H. Natcher Bridge crosses further east, a long cable-stayed span. A bypass loops around the southern part of the city, creating a rough ring that frames the older neighbourhoods.
Owensboro is known for bluegrass music and for its barbecue, particularly mutton, which is celebrated at an annual festival. It is one of Kentucky's largest cities. A Owensboro map poster brings the riverfront, the grid and the two crossings together in one balanced composition.

Two bridges
One bridge leaves from downtown and another crosses to the east. Both stand out as fine lines stretched over the water toward the Indiana shore.
Downtown grid
Regular blocks run south from the riverfront in a clear rectangular pattern. This is the historic core of the city, where most of the older streets are found.
