Pisochyn sits just beyond the western boundary of Kharkiv, and from above it looks like a place built where the city meets the countryside. Short residential lanes lined with detached houses branch off a few main roads. Garden plots fill the blocks between them, and open fields and patches of woodland press in from the edges.
The settlement's shape follows the roads that lead into Kharkiv rather than any single centre. Denser clusters form where those routes cross, and the street pattern loosens as it moves outward.
