The escarpment rim
On the eastern edge, winding roads and lookouts follow the drop of the range. The contrast between that ragged edge and the calm grid behind it gives the map its main shape.

El mapa
Toowoomba Map Poster & Print
Toowoomba sits on the top of the Great Dividing Range, about 700 metres above sea level, where the Darling Downs begin. From above, its east side ends suddenly. The streets reach the edge of the escarpment, and the land drops sharply toward the Lockyer Valley. Lookouts along the rim give wide views, and on a map the edge shows as tightly packed contour-like roads.
Behind the escarpment, the city spreads west across the plateau in a broad, regular grid. Two green corridors run through it along East Creek and West Creek. Large parks break up the streets, and the city is well known as a garden city. It hosts the Carnival of Flowers every September.
A Toowoomba map poster shows both parts of the city: a calm, green grid on top of the range and the sudden change at its eastern edge. Main roads leave the city to the west and south, while the older range road winds its way down the escarpment.

Creek parklands
Green corridors along East Creek and West Creek run through the grid. On the poster they are clear, open lines between otherwise even blocks.
Garden city parks
Large parks near the centre break up the streets. They are the focus of the city's flower carnival, which is held every spring.

Per què Toowoomba
Un mapa amb significat
Toowoomba is often where people from the Downs went to school or started a family, and a map of it reminds them of the range, the parks and cold mornings on the plateau. Add a family name, a school or a year to the personal title line.
Paper and Sand suit the garden city look, while Classic, Noir and Blueprint give crisper contrast. Printed posters come from partners in more than 30 countries, including Australia. The $9 digital files cover six sizes, from A3 up to 24×36 inches.
