Adūr Map Poster & Print
Adūr, often written Adoor, is in Pathanamthitta district in southern Kerala. From above, the town grows along the Main Central Road, the historic route that runs north to south through inland Kerala. Its streets are densest around the main junction and loosen into scattered housing among trees and small plots.
The landscape here is typical of Kerala's midlands: low hills, paddy fields in the valleys, small streams and dense greenery around almost every house. The filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, one of the best-known figures in Malayalam cinema, took his name from the town.
