关于地图
Al Hillah Map Poster & Print
Al Hillah lies in central Iraq on the Hilla branch of the Euphrates, which runs through the middle of the city from north to south. The river divides the city into two halves joined by bridges, with the older districts close to its banks. Around the built-up area, date palm groves and irrigated fields fill the land along the water, giving the map a soft, textured edge.
The ruins of ancient Babylon lie a few kilometres to the north, and the medieval town was built in part with bricks taken from the ancient site. In the centuries that followed, Al Hillah became an important centre of Shia scholarship. Today it is the capital of Babil Governorate and a market town for the surrounding farmland.
An Al Hillah map poster shows a river city with a clear axis, bridges crossing at intervals and neighbourhoods fanning out on both banks. Framed a little more widely, it can also take in the ancient site to the north, placing the modern streets beside one of the oldest urban landscapes in the world.

Palm Groves
Dense date palm plantations follow the watercourses around the city, drawing a softer, irregular pattern around the urban grid.
Babylon to the North
The archaeological site of Babylon lies a short distance north, and a wider frame can include its outline alongside the modern city.

为什么选 Al Hillah
一张有意义的地图
Al Hillah is a hometown for many Iraqis and a place tied to one of the oldest cities ever built. A map of its streets and river carries both of those meanings in a single, understated print.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates line of your choosing, and select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand works especially well for the landscape of the Mesopotamian plain.
