Lake Manzala shore
Open lake water surrounds much of the town, leaving large empty areas on the map that frame the dense streets sharply.

关于地图
Al Maţarīyah Map Poster & Print
Al Maţarīyah lies in the northeast of the Nile Delta, in Dakahlia Governorate, on the edge of Lake Manzala. From above, the town occupies a strip of land bordered by open water, with streets packed tightly into the available space. Channels and shallow lake waters stretch out beyond the built area, giving the map a strong sense of edge.
Lake Manzala is the largest of the Delta's coastal lagoons, and Al Maţarīyah has long been one of the main fishing towns on its shores. The livelihoods of many residents are tied to the lake, its boats and its fish.
An Al Maţarīyah map poster is defined by the meeting of land and water. The streets form a compact, dense grain, and around them the lake and its channels leave wide expanses of blank space. In black and white, that contrast between crowded town and open water makes a clear and memorable composition.
