Aznā lies in eastern Lorestan, in the high valleys of the Zagros mountains. From above, the town is a compact settlement on a fairly flat valley floor, with streets that are denser at the centre and more open toward the edges. The mountains stand at a distance, and you can see their pull in how the roads bend and gather toward the few natural passages.
The land around the town is farmed, divided into fields and crossed by irrigation channels and farm tracks. At this altitude the seasons are sharply marked, and the town serves as a local centre for the villages spread across the valley. That role shows on the map as a clear hub with routes leading outward in several directions.
