Baolong Map Poster & Print
Baolong lies in the far east of Chongqing municipality, in the mountainous country around Wushan and the Three Gorges of the Yangtze. The terrain is steep and deeply cut. Settlements here have to fit themselves into valleys and onto terraces, and roads climb in tight bends.
The town's streets follow the shape of the land rather than any grid. They run along the valley floor, bend with watercourses and climb the slopes in short, twisting connections. Terraced fields and forested ridges fill the rest of the landscape.
A Baolong map poster shows a settlement shaped by mountains. The central streets form an elongated cluster, and roads wind outward in loops and switchbacks through the surrounding hills. The lines are organic and irregular, very different from a lowland town, and they give the poster real character.
