关于地图
Bla Map Poster
Bla is a town in the Ségou region of central Mali, on the wide, open savanna between the Niger and Bani river systems. Its importance comes mainly from its position. Bla sits at a road junction where routes toward Ségou, toward San and the north, and toward Koutiala and the south all meet.
On a map the town reads as a knot of streets tied around that junction. The main roads cross near the centre, and the residential quarters fan out in low, fairly regular blocks. Beyond them the flat land opens out almost without interruption, with only tracks and scattered settlements marking the Sahelian landscape.
A Bla map poster is a portrait of connection. The strong lines of the highways dominate, while the town gathers where they meet. It is an understated, graphic composition, well suited to anyone who has travelled these roads, grown up along them or keeps family ties to this part of Mali.

Low, open blocks
The residential quarters spread out in fairly regular blocks around the junction. They form an even texture across the middle of the map.
Sahelian plain
Flat, open country surrounds the town on every side. It leaves wide pale margins that emphasise how the roads run off to the horizon.
