Furnas reservoir
Branching inlets of the reservoir reach through the countryside. Their long, irregular shorelines are the most distinctive shapes on the map.

关于地图
Boa Esperança Map Poster & Print
Boa Esperança is a town in the south of Minas Gerais, in a landscape of rolling hills, coffee farms and wide stretches of reservoir water. The urban area spreads across gently sloping ground. Its streets follow the terrain in long curves, and the centre around the main square is denser. Toward the edges the plan loosens into newer neighbourhoods and roads leading out into farmland.
Two features give the place its identity. The Furnas reservoir, created by damming the Rio Grande in the 1960s, spreads its irregular arms through the region, and on a map they appear as branching, fjord-like shapes. The Serra da Boa Esperança, the ridge near the town, lent its name to a well-known Brazilian song by Lamartine Babo from the 1930s.
A Boa Esperança map poster works best when it includes some of the water. The shoreline gives the composition a flowing, irregular edge that contrasts with the town's compact street pattern. In a single ink the reservoir becomes a large open shape, winding roads suggest the hills, and the town sits between them.

Serra da Boa Esperança
The ridge that shares the town's name rises nearby. It is remembered across Brazil through the song of the same name, written in its honour in the 1930s.
Hillside streets
Roads in town curve with the slopes rather than forming a strict grid, with a denser centre and more loosely built neighbourhoods toward the edges.

为什么选 Boa Esperança
一张有意义的地图
Boa Esperança means good hope, and a map of the town makes a fitting gift for a new home, a wedding or a return to family roots in southern Minas. Write your own title, add a date or a short line to the subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates.
Paper and Sand bring out the warmth of the hills and water, and Blueprint gives the reservoir a cool, technical look. Classic black & white and Noir keep it crisp. Try the free 900 px preview, then download six HD sizes for $9 or order a matte print with an optional frame.
