Planned avenues
Wide, straight avenues and evenly spaced blocks give the town a crisp geometric plan, and it reads as deliberate and modern on paper.

关于地图
Brasnorte Map Poster & Print
Brasnorte is a municipality in north-western Mato Grosso, in the transition zone between the Cerrado and the Amazon rainforest. The town is recent and planned. Its map shows a clean grid of wide avenues and regular blocks placed on open ground, with few of the irregularities of older settlements.
Beyond the urban area, the landscape shows how it has been used. Long straight roads divide large agricultural properties, and forest remains as darker masses along rivers and in reserves. The municipality covers a huge area, so the town is a small, precise mark in a very wide territory.
Like many towns in the region, Brasnorte grew with the expansion of agriculture into central-western Brazil in the late twentieth century. A Brasnorte map poster shows that planned origin clearly: straight streets, open plots at the edges and the huge scale of the land around them.

Frontier edges
At the edges of town, unfinished blocks and open lots show a settlement still growing outward into the surrounding land.
Forest and fields
Beyond the grid, large farm plots and remnants of forest meet along sharp lines, typical of the Mato Grosso agricultural frontier.
