Baldwin Street
The historic main street runs north to south through the centre. It is a straight spine with older, smaller blocks that still set the village apart from its surroundings.

关于地图
Brooklin Map Poster & Print
Brooklin is the northern community of Whitby, in Ontario's Durham Region, and its map works at two scales. At the centre is the old village, strung along Baldwin Street, with a short run of blocks on either side. Around it spread newer subdivisions of curving crescents and cul-de-sacs, set inside the larger grid of concession roads typical of rural southern Ontario.
Lynde Creek winds through the area, and its valley shows as a ribbon of green space and open land that the streets bend around. To the south runs Highway 407, a strong horizontal line. It separates Brooklin from the rest of Whitby and connects it with the wider Greater Toronto Area.
A Brooklin map poster suits people who watched the village grow, or who moved into one of its newer streets and want to mark the moment. The straight historic main street against the looping patterns of recent housing makes a surprisingly lively drawing in plain black lines.

Lynde Creek valley
The creek and its wooded corridor wind across the map. They break the grid and leave an irregular band of open ground among the houses.
Concession grid
Long, evenly spaced rural roads frame the whole community. This survey pattern gives the edges of the poster a calm, orderly rhythm.
