Cerro Chepén
The hill rises directly beside the town. It appears as a blank or shaded mass against the tight urban grid, and archaeologists have studied the fortified site on its summit.

关于地图
Chepén Map Poster & Print
Chepén is the capital of the province of the same name in La Libertad, on Peru's arid northern coast. The town sits on the plain of the Jequetepeque valley, and from above you see a firm grid of blocks pressed against the slopes of Cerro Chepén. The hill is a dry, uneven mass on the map, and the town stops where the ground begins to rise. That contrast gives the town its shape.
Water is what makes this landscape work. Irrigation from the Jequetepeque River turns the surrounding desert into a patchwork of fields, and the valley is known for growing rice. Canals and field boundaries fill the area around the town with fine geometric lines. The hill above also has an archaeological past: its summit holds the remains of a fortified settlement that predates the Inca.
A Chepén map poster captures that meeting of order and terrain. On one side is the regular urban block, with its plaza, market streets and the roads toward the Pan-American Highway. On the other is the empty rise of the hill. Around both are the ruled lines of farmland. The result is spare and graphic, well suited to monochrome printing.

Checkerboard centre
Straight streets and square blocks spread out from the main plaza in the Spanish colonial pattern that still shapes towns along the Peruvian coast.
Irrigated valley
Canals from the Jequetepeque River divide the surrounding plain into rice fields, and the field edges draw long parallel lines around the town.

为什么选 Chepén
一张有意义的地图
Chepén suits anyone from Peru's north coast, or anyone who has travelled the Pan-American Highway through the irrigated valleys between Trujillo and Chiclayo. The simple grid under the hill makes a clean, architectural image that works in a hallway, a study or a kitchen.
Add a personal title, such as a family name or the year you left, plus a subtitle and your own coordinates line. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download 300 DPI files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
