Regular rectangular fields surround the town, their boundaries creating a fine grid of lines that fills much of the poster around the built-up area.

关于地图
Ch’ŏngdan-ŭp Map Poster & Print
Ch’ŏngdan-ŭp is the administrative seat of Ch’ŏngdan County in South Hwanghae Province, in the southwest of North Korea, not far from the Yellow Sea coast. Detailed information about the town is limited, and maps are one of the few ways to see it clearly. What they show is a compact settlement set in one of the country's main farming regions.
South Hwanghae is known for its broad plains, which produce a substantial share of North Korea's rice. Around the town, the land is divided into regular paddy fields crossed by irrigation channels and farm roads. The built-up area itself is modest, with a handful of main streets and residential blocks arranged in a loosely regular pattern.
The coast lies a short distance away, and the plain is broken here and there by low hills. A Ch’ŏngdan-ŭp map poster presents the town in the context of its landscape: a small, orderly centre amid the ruled lines of cultivated fields, drawn with the same care and precision as any large city on the site.

Irrigation channels
Straight channels cross the farmland, carrying water over the plain and adding a series of long, precise lines to the landscape around the town.
