Branching creeks
Tidal channels split and rejoin around the town in a pattern that resembles veins in a leaf. They are the most expressive lines on the sheet.

关于地图
Degema Hulk Map Poster & Print
Degema Hulk lies in Rivers State, in the western part of the Niger Delta, in the Degema area. The map here is dominated by water. Creeks and tidal channels wind through low, forested and mangrove-covered ground, and the settlement sits on firmer land beside the waterways. The streets form a modest network, clearly secondary to the curving water routes that surround them.
In this part of the delta, boats have long been as important as roads, and the town's position on the water reflects that. From above, the channels branch and rejoin in patterns that look almost like veins, and the land between them is broken into islands and peninsulas of irregular shape. Firm ground is limited, which keeps the built-up area compact.
A Degema Hulk map poster turns that intricate geography into a striking black-and-white image. The creeks become bold, flowing shapes, the mangrove islands sit between them, and the small street grid of the town occupies its own patch of solid ground. It is an unusual map, and one that people from the Rivers State creeks will recognise at once.

Mangrove islands
Irregular pieces of low land lie between the waterways. In black and white, they form an intricate mosaic of shapes that changes across the map.
The waterside town
The streets of Degema Hulk occupy a compact area of firmer ground by the water, a small, ordered pattern set against the delta's looser forms.
