Old Newar core
The historic centre forms a dense cluster of narrow, irregular lanes. On the map it looks like a darker, finely textured patch at the heart of the town.

关于地图
Dhulikhel Map Poster & Print
Dhulikhel sits on a ridge east of the Kathmandu Valley, and from above the town reads as a compact knot of old lanes perched on high ground. Streets bend with the hillside instead of forming a grid. Terraced fields and scattered settlements fall away on every side, and the ridge's contour shows clearly in how the built area stretches out and then stops at the steeper slopes.
The Araniko Highway, the road that links Kathmandu toward the Tibetan border, passes along the edge of town and adds one long, confident line to an otherwise intricate map. Newer houses and institutions spread out from the old core along this road. Kathmandu University's main campus is nearby, and its grounds show up as a more open, planned pattern set against the dense lanes of the historic centre.
A Dhulikhel map poster keeps that contrast between the tight Newar core and the looser hillside around it. Dhulikhel is known for its views of the Himalayan range to the north. Paper can't hold those peaks, but it can show the ridge that gives the town its outlook, and in black and white the contour-driven street pattern comes through clearly.

Araniko Highway
The highway toward the Tibetan border runs past the town as a single long curve, giving the composition a strong line against the small-scale streets.
Ridge and terraces
Roads and paths follow the ridge and its slopes, so the town's outline reflects the terrain rather than any planned layout.

为什么选 Dhulikhel
一张有意义的地图
People hang Dhulikhel because they studied at the university, trekked from here, or stood on the ridge at sunrise. A spare map of the town works as a quiet souvenir of the hills east of Kathmandu, without a photograph's clutter.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a date or a trek, and pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9, or you can order a printed poster.
