关于地图
Dodoma Map Poster & Print
Dodoma is in the middle of Tanzania, on a semi-arid plateau far from the coast. The city looks unusually open from above. Wide roads and generous blocks spread over flat land, and rocky granite outcrops rise here and there around the edges. Unlike older port cities, Dodoma grew from a plan, and the geometry of that plan is still easy to read.
In the 1970s Dodoma was chosen to replace Dar es Salaam as the national capital, partly because of its central location. The National Assembly meets here, and government offices have moved gradually over the following decades. The Central Railway, built during the colonial period, runs through the city, and the surrounding region is one of the few places in East Africa where wine grapes are grown.
A Dodoma map poster captures a capital still filling in its outline. The central streets are regular and quite sparse, then broaden into newer districts, institutional campuses and ring roads. Across the sheet, bare ground and hillsides come through as white space, which gives the print a calm, spacious feel.

Railway line
The Central Railway line crosses the city and draws a long, clean stroke through the map. Dodoma grew up as a stop on this route.
Granite outcrops
Rocky hills near the edges of town stay unbuilt. On the map they appear as open shapes that break up the surrounding streets.

为什么选 Dodoma
一张有意义的地图
For Tanzanians who have worked in the capital, or anyone who has spent time on the central plateau, a Dodoma map is a clear and unusual record of a young city. The open layout suits large print sizes.
Personalise it with your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, whether that marks a posting, a graduation or a move. Pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
