Egra Map Poster & Print
Egra lies in Purba Medinipur district in the south-west of West Bengal, on low land not far from the Bay of Bengal and the border with Odisha. The map shows a compact centre where roads meet, then a wide spread of villages and fields joined by narrow lanes. Water is everywhere but at a small scale, in ponds and irrigation channels rather than in any single large river.
The town is a local hub for the surrounding farmland, with markets, schools and roads toward Contai and the seaside resort of Digha. Its character comes less from monuments than from its role as the place where the countryside around it comes to trade and study.
An Egra map poster is mostly about texture. It shows a knot of streets at the centre, lanes fanning out into the countryside and the scattered dark shapes of ponds. The design is understated and works well beside family photographs or as a reminder of a hometown on the coast road.
