Branching lanes
Small roads and paths branch repeatedly off the main routes to reach individual homes. This creates the dense, tree-like line work that gives the poster its texture.

关于地图
Elampalloor Map Poster & Print
Elampalloor is a census town in Kerala's Kollam district, in the gently rolling midlands inland from the coast. The layout is typical of this part of Kerala. There is no clear edge where the town ends and the countryside begins. Houses sit spread out among coconut palms and garden plots, and they are connected by narrow lanes that curve with the land.
A main road carries through-traffic and gathers the shops and public buildings. From it, a dense network of smaller paths leads away to homes and neighbourhoods. The result is a map without a strong centre. Instead it is an even, finely branched pattern that fills the frame. Water bodies and paddy lowlands occasionally open up spaces in the web.
An Elampalloor map poster captures this distinctive Kerala settlement form, which differs so clearly from the compact towns of northern India. In black and white, the many small lanes build up an intricate, almost textile-like pattern. It rewards close viewing and gives a strong sense of place to anyone who knows the area.

Spread settlement
Houses are distributed through the landscape rather than packed into blocks. The town has no hard boundary, so the map fades gradually into its surroundings.
Main road spine
A principal road runs through the town and collects shops and services along it. It forms the clearest line in an otherwise evenly woven composition.
