Compound clusters
Buildings group into family compounds along the lanes. They form small, irregular clusters on the map rather than regular blocks.

关于地图
Finnkolo Map Poster & Print
Finnkolo lies in the Sikasso region of southern Mali, the wettest and greenest part of the country. On a map the town appears as a cluster of compounds and lanes, with roads leading out to nearby villages and fields. The surrounding land is farmed in irregular plots, among the trees of the savanna.
The Sikasso region is one of Mali's main farming areas. It grows cotton, grains and fruit, and it is known for its mangoes. Settlements here are often organised around family compounds, and on a map these show up as small enclosed shapes along the lanes, instead of a rigid street grid.
A Finnkolo map poster presents a place that rarely appears in print. The line work is light and organic: tracks that follow the ground, clusters of buildings and fields fading into open country. It suits anyone with ties to the town or to the wider Sikasso region.

Tracks and roads
Unpaved tracks lead out from the centre to fields and neighbouring villages. Their curving lines give the map a loose, organic structure.
Farmed savanna
Cultivated plots and savanna surround the town. At wider scales the open land frames the settlement and gives the composition space.
