Contour-following roads
The streets bend with the hillsides instead of cutting across them, so the road network looks like a set of loose, winding threads laid over uneven ground.

关于地图
Fontem Map Poster & Print
Fontem sits in the Lebialem highlands of Cameroon's South-West Region, where the land rises in folds of green ridges and narrow valleys. From above, the settlement doesn't form a grid. It spreads along the lines the hills allow, with roads following contours and small clusters of buildings on the flatter shoulders of the slopes.
The town is widely known for its link with the Focolare Movement, which arrived in the 1960s and helped establish a hospital and schools that still shape local life. On a map that history shows only faintly, as a few larger compounds among the scattered houses. The real structure comes from the terrain: switchbacks, streams and the gaps between hills.
A Fontem map poster makes the most of that irregularity. The lines are sparse and curving, with open space where the forest and farmland take over. In black and white this reads almost like a topographic sketch, a record of a place whose shape is set by its landscape more than by planning.

Scattered settlement
Houses and compounds gather in small groups on the flatter ground, leaving wide gaps between them that give the poster a light, airy composition.
Highland setting
Fontem lies in the Lebialem highlands, and the open areas around the built-up core stand for the forested ridges and farmland that surround the town.

为什么选 Fontem
一张有意义的地图
For people with family roots in Lebialem, or anyone who has worked or studied in Fontem, this map keeps a far-off hillside town close. The winding lines are easy to recognise and quietly specific, a reminder of roads walked and hills climbed.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a year, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
