Forssa Map Poster & Print
Forssa is a town in the Kanta-Häme region of southern Finland, and its layout still reflects its origins. It grew around a cotton mill founded in the 1840s by Axel Wilhelm Wahren, and the river that powered the works runs through the centre, with the old factory area and workers' housing clustered along it.
Beyond the industrial core, the town spreads out in a regular grid of residential streets, then gives way to fields, forest and small lakes. On a map, the combination of the river, the mill district and the orderly blocks makes the history of the place quite easy to read.
