Gaofeng Map Poster & Print
Gaofeng lies in the rolling country of north-eastern Chongqing, on the eastern rim of the Sichuan Basin, where long parallel ridges run between shallow valleys. From above, very little is straight. Roads bend to follow the contours, the town centre gathers where a few of them meet, and the land around is broken into small terraced fields, ponds and wooded slopes.
Like many towns in the municipality, Gaofeng combines a compact centre of multi-storey buildings with a much wider rural area of villages and farmland. On the map this appears as one dense cluster of streets surrounded by thin, twisting lanes that link isolated groups of houses. Small reservoirs and ponds show up as irregular pale shapes tucked into the folds of the terrain.
