The block grid
Evenly sized square blocks form the town's core in the traditional Spanish colonial manner and create a very regular, graphic texture on the map.

关于地图
General Güemes Map Poster & Print
General Güemes lies east of the city of Salta, in the warmer, lower country of northwestern Argentina. It is named after Martín Miguel de Güemes, the regional hero of the independence wars. From above, the town follows the classic Argentine pattern: square blocks arranged in an even grid around a central plaza.
The town grew with the railways, and track lines and yards still leave a visible mark on its layout, cutting across the grid at their own angle. Beyond the edge of town, agriculture takes over, and large rectangular fields stretch across the valley floor under the eastern foothills of the Andes.
A General Güemes map poster makes the most of that order. The regular blocks, the long straight lines of the railway and the broad field patterns outside town combine into a crisp, geometric print that reflects how the place was planned and how it works.

Railway lines
The rail corridors that shaped the town's growth run through and beside the grid and add long diagonals to the composition.
Valley farmland
Around the town, large cultivated parcels spread across the lowland and outline the settlement with a pattern of broad rectangles.
