Garden-plot streets
Rows of private houses with long, narrow plots line the outer streets. They create a fine, striped texture, one of the most distinctive patterns on the map.

关于地图
Gornyak Map Poster & Print
Gornyak is a town in the southwest of Altai Krai, close to the border with Kazakhstan, and the centre of Loktevsky District. Its name means "miner", and it grew up around ore extraction in the area. The map shows this history in the practical, working layout of its streets.
The town has a loose layout. Blocks of multi-storey housing stand near the centre, lanes of detached houses with long garden plots run toward the edges, and in the industrial areas tracks and access roads spread out. Beyond the last houses the land opens into steppe and farmland, crossed by a handful of roads.
A Gornyak map poster is a modest, honest image: a compact town, a few roads leading out and a great deal of open land around it. The empty space shows how exposed the place is on the steppe, and the fine pattern of garden plots gives the paper texture. It suits people who grew up here or whose families worked in the mines.

Industrial edge
Areas linked to mining sit apart from the residential core. Wider open spaces, service roads and tracks break the regular rhythm of the streets there.
Open steppe
Around the town the map thins out into fields and country roads. This broad, quiet surround makes the compact town stand out clearly.
