关于地图
Hanawa Map Poster & Print
Hanawa lies in the Kazuno area of northern Akita, inside a basin ringed by forested mountains. The town stretches along the valley floor, with its streets following the course of the river and the railway rather than a planned grid. On a map, the built-up area forms a long, narrow shape.
The mountains around the basin leave large empty areas on the poster, which makes the fine lines of the town stand out. Small side roads lead up into the valleys, and rice fields fill much of the flat ground between the houses and the river.
The wider Kazuno area is known for hot springs and for its location on the way to Lake Towada. A Hanawa map poster shows a calmer, more rural side of Japan, where a small town is shaped almost entirely by its river, its railway and the mountains that close it in.

Railway line
A single railway runs through the basin and gives the map a firm, gently curving line that the town has grown along.
Mountain frame
Forested slopes surround the basin on all sides, creating wide quiet spaces on the poster that set off the town's shape.
