The Benue River
One of Nigeria's major rivers runs past the town as a wide, braided channel, and on a print it is the strongest shape, taking up much of the frame.

关于地图
Ibi Map Poster & Print
Ibi sits on the south bank of the Benue River in Taraba State, in the middle of Nigeria's long river valley. The river sets the layout. The broad channel, with its sandbars and seasonal shifts, runs across the top of the map, and the town's streets lead inland from the waterfront toward farmland and savanna.
The Benue has long been a trade route, and Ibi grew as a river port. It is historically tied to the Jukun, and in the colonial period it was a riverside station for traders and administrators moving along the waterway. On a map the old connection is still plain: the settlement faces the water and stretches along the bank.
An Ibi map poster shows that relationship clearly. The wide pale band of the river and its sandbanks contrasts with the finer street network behind it, and the roads leading away over the plain show how the town links to the rest of Taraba. It is a simple composition shaped by one river.

Riverside settlement
The town lies along the southern bank, with its densest streets closest to the water, a layout that goes back to Ibi's role as a river port.
Roads into the plain
A few roads lead away across the open savanna, linking the river town to the wider state and thinning out into rural tracks toward the edges of the map.
