关于地图
Ikwiriri Map Poster & Print
Ikwiriri lies in the Rufiji district of Pwani Region, in the low country south of Dar es Salaam near the lower course of the Rufiji River, one of Tanzania's largest. On a map the town is a loose network of streets along the main road. Around it stretches a wide landscape of fields, wetlands and river channels that change with the seasons.
Life here is tied to the river. The Rufiji's floods renew the soils of the plain, where rice and other crops are grown. Downstream the river spreads into one of the largest mangrove deltas in East Africa. Upstream lies the vast protected area of Nyerere National Park, once part of the Selous Game Reserve.
An Ikwiriri map poster is a picture of a settlement shaped by water. The straight road contrasts with the winding channels and irregular fields around it, so the map feels more like a landscape than a city plan. For people from the Rufiji area, it is a simple, lasting reminder of home.

Main road
The coastal road south from Dar es Salaam passes through the area. It forms a clear straight line, and much of the town has grown along it.
Fields and wetlands
Rice paddies, gardens and seasonal wetlands surround the settlement. They fill the outer parts of the poster with an irregular, natural pattern.
