Palace centre
The traditional heart of the town sits where main roads meet, forming the densest part of the map and the point from which the town has grown.

关于地图
Iwo Map Poster & Print
Iwo is an old Yoruba town in Osun State, south-western Nigeria, set in gently rolling country between Ibadan and Osogbo. From above, the town has the organic shape common to Yoruba settlements: roads radiate from a centre where the traditional palace and main markets stand, and neighbourhoods grow outward along them.
There is no strict grid here. Streets curve and branch as they follow older paths, with denser clusters of buildings close to the middle and more open, irregular blocks at the edges. Major roads connecting Iwo to neighbouring towns give the map its main axes.
Iwo is the seat of the Oluwo of Iwo, one of the prominent traditional rulers of Yorubaland, and it is home to Bowen University. An Iwo map poster records the town's shape as it stands, a centre of tradition with roads reaching out towards the rest of the region.

Radiating roads
Routes to neighbouring towns leave the centre in several directions, giving the poster a clear structure against the irregular fabric of residential streets.
Organic street pattern
Without a planned grid, the lanes curve and branch across the town, producing a rich, varied texture that looks especially good in fine black line.

为什么选 Iwo
一张有意义的地图
For people from Iwo, or those who studied there, the town is where family and tradition sit side by side. A map of its streets brings that place into a home far away, or marks a milestone such as a graduation or a wedding.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Preview it free at 900 px, then download HD files for $9 or order a matte printed poster.
