Lakes and straits
Long lakes fill the valleys and push the roads into narrow corridors. In black and white, their smooth outlines stand out sharply against the fine texture of the forest tracks around them.

关于地图
Jämsä Map Poster & Print
Jämsä covers a wide area of Central Finland where water and forest share the map almost equally. Long lakes fill the hollows between wooded ridges, and the roads follow the shorelines and cross narrow straits. Instead of a single town plan, the result is a string of settlements, each shaped by the water beside it. The main centre sits in a river valley that drains south toward Lake Päijänne.
Jämsänkoski, now part of the municipality, grew up around rapids and a paper mill, and its industrial buildings show as broad, blocky shapes along the river. Near the centre, the Himos hills rise high enough to hold one of Finland's best-known ski resorts. Its slopes and cottage roads draw fine, looping lines through the surrounding forest.
On paper, much of Jämsä is empty space: lake surfaces left blank, with shorelines drawn as crisp outlines. A Jämsä map poster makes the most of that restraint. The water sets the composition, and the roads and villages add the detail. The result is quiet and spacious, closer to a landscape study than a street plan.

River and mill
The Jämsänjoki river connects the central settlements to Päijänne. At Jämsänkoski, the mill adds large rectangular shapes along its banks, a reminder of the area's paper industry.
Himos hills
The ski area at Himos shows as a cluster of curving access roads and cabin lanes on higher ground, a distinctive knot of lines surrounded by forest.

为什么选 Jämsä
一张有意义的地图
People keep coming back to Jämsä: for winter weekends on Himos, for a summer cottage by the lake, or because their family has lived here for generations. A map of it keeps that sense of water and space on the wall all year.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, then choose from five styles. Blueprint and Paper suit the lake shapes especially well. Order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9.
