Jāwad is a town in Neemuch district, in the northwestern corner of Madhya Pradesh near the border with Rajasthan. From above, it has the dense, irregular centre typical of older Indian market towns. Lanes are narrow and closely packed around the main bazaar, and newer residential areas extend along the roads leading out of town.
The surrounding land belongs to the Malwa region's open, gently rolling farmland. On the map, fields and scattered villages fill the space around the town, connected by roads that radiate in several directions. Small water bodies and seasonal streams appear here and there, adding soft shapes to an otherwise line-based landscape.
